Hi Stay! For all of my younger generation Stay here who may not be as familiar with Radiohead and their music, I wanted to offer some relevant background on the importance of Seungmin picking High and Dry to sing. Back in the day, a lot of people thought this song was a breakup song. It's not. Thom, the original singer, has stated previously that this song is about the struggles of becoming famous. He uses the metaphor of a motorcycle performer (Evil Knievel, another famous figure from back in the day) and the dangers that await their stunts. In a way, fame is just as dangerous. It's about not letting fame destroy the things you hold most precious and the person you are inside. That feels like something extremely relevant and personal to Seungmin, and I think that comes across in his beautiful singing here. He talks about it briefly in his intro to the song, about not becoming too reliant on the love of his fans, and the loneliness of coming home after a show. Artists can easily become addicted to the rush of performing in front of thousands of people. I love how self aware all of Stray Kids are. Seungmin recognized this danger and took steps to improve his situation. Now he has a mini-studio in his room and this project that he loves to work on and he looks forward to coming home after their schedules. I love that so much. So when you listen to our main vocalist singing this song, hear the emotion in his voice and the way he connects with the lyrics. I love you Seungmin ❤

It seems that Minho treats Seungmin differently than it might seem at first glance. On the other hand, Minho prefers to handle important and valuable things on his own. This honestly made me see him in a new light. Like I don’t really have a bias because I love them all for their own quirks and personalities but this sort of reopened my eyes to how good and genuine of a singer and artist seungmin is. Like it makes me realize his singing for the group is like a bassist in a band. You don’t 100% hear how good they are but you’d 100% hear if they weren’t there [I hope that makes sense]

I really adore the way Seungmin uses his tone and volume to really make the song his own. It's definitely not something that just anyone could do while staying so true to the source material. He really is such an incredible vocalist and performer.

It's difficult to explain but this episodes make me feel so at ease, I feel at home. Seungmin's voice is just so warm and welcoming, plus him talking about his story, it makes him feel more like a friend than a celebrity and I really really like that. Moreover even though I have been following Stray Kids for quite a long time I can't help but be impressed every time I hear Seungmin singing, he makes it seem so easy and effortless even with such high notes, wow. I've been a K-POP fan since 2017, but I've never met such honest, sincere and humble idols, Seungmin is such a cozy and pleasant person that even through the phone screen you feel incredibly comfortable🥺🤍🤲

I feel a kpop artist doing this kind of song is quite touching in a way, since the industry is harsh on them and they are constantly expected to meet high standards lest they be left 'high and dry'. I feel under that sort of pressure you would see yourself change into 'something you are not' perhaps even somebody you find ugly 'you broke another mirror' 'the best thing you have had has gone away'. I feel this guy relates to this song, judging by what he said at the start anout trying not to become to reliant on fame. Him acknowledging that it is fleeting makes it seem that he will be successful in his ventures and that he will not allow fame to change him. When Thom yorke first got famous, there was a phase where it was affecting him, before the lead singer of R.E.M, Michael Stipe sent him a message to help him. Fame at a young age would be hard on anyone I imagine. I've listened to the vast majority of radioheads discography and i think out of all of the songs this one is probably the best fit for a kpop idol. Its popularity probably helps too haha. Anyway, this was interesting to me.
